Silisia, The Wild Garden
Our first, multi-year program of artistic research focused on the Silisia valley, the loss of places, symbols, and values of the past, and the future projections for the territory.
We investigated the imposed change following the construction of the dams for hydroelectric power generation. The artificial lake of Ca’ Selva, in the heart of the valley, submerged a large portion of the territory, displacing the population of the upper valley and sinking its economy forever.
Through the eyes of three experts, a landscape architect, a dancer, and a videomaker (the latter two, hosted in residency), we tried to understand: what has been irretrievably lost, what endures, and what could come next.
The result of this work is a video-documentary, produced thanks to the contributions of local administrations.
